Whitecaps Win First Game in Trive-IDU Classic

The Zamastan Whitecaps Defeated Libertas Omnium Maximus' 'The Spear' Team, creating a 1-1 record

Travis Summers (Tofino Seals, 28, RF) celebrates with his team following the victory

The Whitecaps won their first game, upsetting the LOM Spear but finally putting themselves on the map to victory following their 8-0 loss to Trive in the first round. Trive lost their round this time around to Gardavasque's amateur team, who remains undefeated. Zamastan is tied for second with Trive leading into next week's tournament.

“We're immensely proud of our boys, and LOM played really well, it took a lot from us to overcome their lead in the first four innings. But hey, here we are.”

The Whitecaps fell behind 0-2 in the second inning following a home-run that also brought in a player from second, and a triple run in the third brought in a runner from first base, which created a 0-3 lead. However, in the fourth inning, Travis Summers (28, RF) hit a home-run for a double, bringing the score to 2-3.

Taking the lead

The fifth inning saw Travis hit yet another home-run on loaded bases. Zamastan's promise to recover was kept, as they also did a great turnaround against the Maximusian team. The Spear started out with a 4 run lead with a Two-run HR and two RBI Doubles - but the Whitecaps recomposed themselves - by scoring an Inside the Park home run at the bottom of the 1st inning, striking out all three batters in the top of the 2nd, and a massive turnaround at the bottom of the 2nd with a Three-run home run by Travis Summers, one RBI Double, and one RBI Single. The game went on to some failed attempts of turnaround by the Maximusians - but the Whitecaps kept on scoring. Man of the match: Travis Summers - 1 for 3 - 3-run HR
