Emperor Topilpopoca of Xiomera was shot and injured in an assassination attempt at the Palace of Flowers in the capital city of Tlālacuetztla. Officials have said that the emperor will recover, though he is being treated at the capital's Imperial Military Hospital. Chief Justice of Xiomera, Nopalliztli, has assumed temporary leadership over the Xiomeran government until the Emperor fully recovers to be capable of resuming his duties. The Chief Justice said that Imperial Police and the ASI have launched an investigation into the assassination attempt. A curfew has been established in major Xiomeran cities.
President Anya Bishop sent her condolences and wishes to the Emperor, despite their history of trading personal insults over cultural issues and trade conflicts.

The Zamastanian government is grateful for the ways Xiomera has showed their kindness in the last few weeks through coming to the mediation conference and offering support through our earthquake. Emperor Topilpopoca's health is in our thoughts today."
