Xiomera Releases Arrest Warrents for Citizens in Zamastan, Laeral, and Lauchenoiria

Updated: Jul 31, 2019

The Xiomeran Secretariat of Justice sent arrest warrants, quoted as "red notices" to Zamastan's government, requesting the "detention and speedy extradition" of 4 Xiomeran citizens. The same requests were sent to the governments of Laeral and Lauchenoiria. The Xiomeran government believes the requested individuals are behind the underground media outlet XUN, which often publishes anti-Xiomeran government statements. The Zamastanian government has not formally denounced either the Xiomeran government or the XUN broadcasting system, but activists in Zamastan have protested for several weeks for President Bishop or the Congressional Chamber to denounce the Xiomeran government's censorship.

The letter with the formal request was sent to the Zamastanian Intelligence Service. "The ongoing investigation by the Xiomeran Imperial Police and the Directorate of Media Review has determined that several of the individuals behind this subversive operation are currently hiding in your jurisdiction. The operations of this unapproved 'pirate' media operation are responsible for continuing disruption to social harmony and cohesion, as well as blatant misrepresentation of facts and manipulation of coverage to try to turn the Xiomeran people against their duly chosen government representatives,"

Secretary of Justice CÄ“tlalhui said in a letter attached to the arrest warrants, "We urge that you detain these individuals and deliver them to the appropriate Xiomeran authorities as quickly as possible, as their actions will cause grave harm to the Xiomeran people if left unhindered,"

XIP officers sent warrants detailing five Xiomeran citizens in Laeral, four in Zamastan, and two in Lauchenoiria. Xiomera does not have extradition agreements with any of the nations to which the request was made, and Xiomeran Justice officials confirmed the fact that "it is unlikely that the governments in question will honor the warrants."
