Upscale Neighborhood Murders Stoking Serial Killer Fears

A fourth death in an upscale Tofino metro neighborhood is stoking fears of a possible serial killer on the loose. Police were called to an upscale, wealthy housing development in the Kingston District in the capital city, and encountered a deceased woman who had apparently suffered several stab wounds.

Police say that Ursan Deese, 27, of Tofino, Zian, was found stabbed to death on July 25 just outside the door to her residence. She is the fourth in what police are now calling "connected, targeted killings" in the wealthy, mansion laden neighborhood. Two days before, Henry Lilard, 54, of Tofino, Zian, was found dead in his backyard. He had suffered stab wounds to the chest, stomach, and neck. His death was the sequel to that of a couple in a Kingston park, only two blocks away, a night prior on the 22nd of July. That couple was identified as Denice and Larrian Fonsted, 43 and 41 respectively.

“People need to know that they are at risk if they go out in the coming days in the Kingston area,” Police lieutenant Mark Trya said on Friday. “At this point, we have nothing that opposes the indication that their deaths are linked. It’s not yet clear whether Ms. Deese and Mr. Lilard were targeted, or if this was an opportunity, a crime of opportunity.”

Kingston is one of the wealthiest districts in the capital, as well as one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in the nation and the entirety of the IDU. With relatively low crime rates and uniquely wealthy residents, investigators are trying to decipher why all four of the murders took place without the loss of any valuables - the Fonsted's wallets remained on their bodies after the killings, and no money was taken from them. Henry Lilard had a gold watch still attached to his arm, and his residence's front door was open at the time police arrived, though nothing appeared to have been stolen or touched. Ursan Deese had "many valuables on her person that were un-bothered at the time of her discovery" as according to the police report.

Police are asking that anyone with information pertaining to the murders come forward, and they are also advising people in the Kingston district to be cautious when walking alone or being alone in outdoor-quartered off areas, such as backyards with high fences and tree-cover. They are encouraging people to walk in groups or with their pets.
