Suspect Arrested in Connection to Kingston Murders Leads Police to 7 More Bodies - Claims More

A 32-year-old man was arrested on Sunday night in connection to the murders of 4 Kingston residents, crimes that touched off what police called a “horrible rumor” that a serial killer was lurking in the capital.

Tofino Station Police Chief James Vunturn told reporters at an impromptu afternoon news conference that minutes earlier detectives had taken the suspect, one Fenton Ren Yurri, into custody in the deaths of Ursan Deese, 27, Henry Lilard, 54, and Denice and Larrian Fonsted, 43 and 41. After his arrest, Yurri reportedly told police to "come with me to [locations redacted], I have more bodies to take credit for."

Upon arriving at the provided location, which has not been made public by police, authorities discovered a shallow grave with seven corpses, who are currently undergoing autopsies and identification processes. If their deaths are confirmed to be related to Yurri and the other four murders, it will confirm the fears that Fenton Ren Yurri is one of the most prolific serial murders in Zamastanian history.

It was not immediately clear if Yurri was represented by an attorney as of Saturday afternoon as news of his arrest spread across Tofino.

Vunturn said in July that homicides had declined in Tofino in 2018, marking the second year in a row of declines in the city of some 12,675,000 people.

In 2018, there were 73 criminal homicides, he said, compared to 82 in 2017. However, 2019 is on track to be one of the most violent years on record.
