Proposal to Change National Flag Reaches Congressional Hall

A proposal by several members of congress reached the Representative Chamber to change the Zamastanian flag from its current look.

The iconic white flag with blue and red arrowed stripes enveloping the yellow star may have just reached its end. Lawmakers will vote on Monday morning whether or not to approve new drafts for the Zamastanian flag following the arrival of a proposal to the floor. Speaker Foley Sakzi stated his admiration for the current flag but is willing to allow the vote to continue should the opinion change among partisan lines. Zamastan has a history of debate about whether the flag should be changed. For several decades, alternative designs have been proposed, with varying degrees of support. There is no consensus among proponents of changing the flag as to which design should replace the flag. The Congressional Hall held a two-stage binding referendum on a flag change in 2015 and 2016. Voters chose to retain the current flag, by a vote of 56.6% to 43.1%.

The flag adopted in 1804 following independence.
