PoverTea Protests Reignite Over Xiomera Trade Dispute, Protesters call for Bishop's Resignation

The falling equity market may find that its biggest enemy's are right in the heart of Zamastan. In Tofino on Thursday morning, 39,000 protesters marched as a part of the PoverTea Movement, which began in February to make known the distaste for President Bishop's economic policy. In the midst of an ongoing trade war with Xiomera and Kerlile, however, and the slowly declining economic stocks across Zamastan and the entirety of the IDU, the protests reignited. Protesters called for Bishop to bring a formal end to the tariffs, as well as for her resignation from office.

The embattled President has said continued protesters could cause a swift and prolonged economic downturn that extends beyond the current dispute, as a weekend of new demonstrations begins.

In a press briefing, President Bishop said she had held talks with business leaders who expressed concern about the long-term effect of the trade war and the ongoing protests, with one businessperson likening the unrest to an economic "tsunami."

The nation of Eiria, historically back and forth with Zamastan over the 1991 Bjeorg Conflict, has announced the possibility of hosting mediation summit involving the trade secretaries of Zamastan, Xiomera, Kerlile, and Trive, who was also caught up in the disputes following their hacking of Kerlian broadcasting.

Protests had turned violent in February after two protesters were killed when car exploded after fellow marchers set fire to it, igniting the gas inside. Bishop faced mounting domestic and international pressure to quell the protests peacefully, and she instated several executive orders that boosted the failing housing market. However, her continued policy seems to have translated into international waters as the dispute continues.

Sanctarian Chancellor Hendry stated she wanted the involved nations to "get their act together," to end the dispute for the betterment of the entire IDU economy. Sanctaria's economy has felt a small wave of the impact of the dispute, seeing slightly hiked prices on manufactured import products and uncertain bond market stability. However, the ramification of a longer dispute may impact Sanctaria's economy much more aggressively, as experts warn of a stock market crash.

Hendry declined to condemn the human rights abuses and censorship propaganda of Xiomera.
