An injured Vulkarian government soldier is carried away by his comrades during an attack on their convoy by the VNA on March 5th, 2019. Rebel forces (the VNA and MLF) have been battling government forces for years, but their spring offensive in 2019 caught them off guard and pushed government forces out of many key strategic cities. The IDU Security Council and Zamastan's coalition to fight rebel forces has failed to stop their advance.

Smoke billows from a power plant on the outskirts of Vulkar as a soldier keeps watch. Rebels tend to attack military and industrial areas so as to deal blows directly to the government and infrastructure rather than civilian populations, though regular people tend to be caught up in the crossfire nonetheless.

VNA (Vulkarian National Army) fighters rest and warm up by a makeshift fire beside their captured APV. The VNA is the prominent rebel group fighting the central government, and they have taken control of much of Inner-Vulkaria. Currently, they have pocketed control of the metropolitan stretch of Vulkaria which spans from the capital of Vulkar to the city of Amstelveen.
