President Anya Bishop was lavished with extravagant royal pomp in Trive on Friday during her first stop in the nation as President, an elaborate start to a trip meant to bolster international partnerships but which aides now hope can reset a scandal-pocked narrative back home.
Bishop’s stop in an enthusiastic Trivian capital is the second in a nine-day, five-country swing across the IDU, which has already taken her to Libertas Omnium Maximus. Bishop departed Tofino as controversies swirled, all centering on the economic instability in Zamastan and the Vulkaria Crisis. She wasn't able to completely escape the storm in Petropavlovskiy-Kamchatsky: at an evening news conference, her Secretary of State Avi Tremblan was forced to answer a question about the matter in Vulkaria.
But for the most part, Bishop’s first day on Trivian soil proceeded without major hiccups.
Friday’s capstone was the signing of an arms deal between the two countries, an agreement brokered primarily by Tremblan. The deal will bring Zamastanian-made ships, planes and bombs to Trive in an attempt to bolster Zamastan’s regional military prowess and influence.
The administration cast the deal as a renewal of Zamastanian commitment to the region, though many of the sales included in the agreement were approved by the Castovia administration.
Bishop and Emperor Lynnoux Yakovlev oversaw the signing on Saturday afternoon during an extended ceremony in a large gilded reception. Multiple agreements between Zamastanian and Trivian companies were inked during the event. Bishop lauded the deals as "tremendous investments in Zamastan.”
There were also conversations for scientific advancement between the two nations, including several green energy initiatives. This was led by Prime Minister Aleksandr Volkov, who’s Libertarian Party has worked towards beneficial policies in this arena. Bishop pledged an increase to access to Zamastanian labs and trade functions by Trivian scientists in order to mutually discover economically and naturally beneficial initiatives.
