Congressional Hall on Wednesday signed a Z$3.8 billion relief and recovery package that includes billions for infrastructure repair and replacement. The “CDRP 34.09 Supplemental Appropriations for Lauchenoiria Relief Act of 2019," according to a Congressional press release, includes Z$3.3 billion for the Lauchenoirian Government to repair damage caused by the 2018 Civil War and natural disasters during the last three years, as well as to invest in resiliency and flood protection projects. The Department of Defense has been allocated Z$207 million to help repair or rebuild damaged military installations, with Z$100 billion set aside for facilities damaged during weather following the conflict.
A spokesperson for the package agreement stated that the Zamastanian Armed Forces would assist in providing food, medicine, housing materials, reopening roads, draining flooded streets and residential areas, repairing electricity networks, spraying insecticides for post-flood pest control, and providing shelter for displaced Lauchenoirians. The package will go into effect on Sunday, June 16th following the national Lauchenoirian parliamentary elections.
The announcement of the package formulation comes after Laeral's government announced its' own relief package to Lauchenoiria. Their aid package will serve to provide "a variety of goods to Lauchenoiria, including assistance in rebuilding the education system, foodstuffs, medicines, and construction supplies for physical rebuilding", according to Les Couloirs. Laeral was one of the participating members in the coalition during the civil war. While Laeralian troops withdrew under the Haven Accords, the Laeralian government faced heavy criticism for not 'cleaning up its mess'. Much of the current aid to Lauchenoiria is coming from Shuell, a nation which did not partake in the war, and Sanctaria, who has occupied SDF forces in Lauchenoiria since the war ended.
