Bishop Arrives In Libertas Omnium Maximus Amidst Heightened Security and Controversy Back Home

Slightly more than a week after a devastating terror attack ravaged the Presidential Mansion in Tofino, slightly more than a day after the controversial and sudden halt to airstrikes in Vulkaria, and amidst political anger over economic inequality and job loss in Zamastan, President Anya Bishop traveled to Libertas Omnium Maximus for the second state visit of her presidency. She is scheduled to meet with the nation's state officials and President Lucas Brown around multiple topics including the ongoing Vulkaria crisis and economic interests.

Bishop's trip is surrounded with significant security increases, as the threat from the recent terror attack in Tofino and multiple threats on the President's life directly have led to suspicion about possible continued attacks. Bishop's venture was widely secret, and was reportedly only made public after Zian Prime 0, the Presidential plane, was already in the air.

Secretary of State Avi Tremblan reportedly asked LOM Secretary of State Janette Smith about possible Maximusan support in the Vulkarian conflict, to which she responded "we will remain neutral unless we see a blatant threat to LOM's interests from either side. We do not see that at this time." She was later asked by Tofino Times reporters regarding this subject, where she mentioned "we also strongly wish that this conflict comes to a rapid resolution."

Libertas Omnium Maximus is still recovering from their own involvement in Lauchenoiria's civil war last summer, an event in which they lost nearly 250 troops. It is clear why they generally try to steer clear from being drawn into another conflict, especially one where many idealized factions have been brutally battling for decades, drawing in several nations across the IDU, including Cadair, Gladysynthia, and the indirect watch but concern of several nations.
