A massive magnitude-8.3 earthquake struck off the Zian coast Friday afternoon, authorities say.

The quake happened approximately 84 miles north-central of Horseshoe Bay about 3:08 p.m., according to the Zamastanian Geological Survey. Tsunami warnings have been issued, and a minor tsunami is expected. The agency said the quake had a depth of more than 10 miles.

There are reports of structural damage and casualties. The Government has declared a state of emergency for the Administrative Districts of Zian, Northern Isle, and Jade. Residents are encouraged to get outside of any building they may be in and stay away from structures. Lay down in open areas with minimal potential for debris such as parks or sports fields.

There are reports of rock and mud slides that are blocking roads and other transit systems.
